With exceptional attention to detail, every aspect of my designs is carefully thought out and brought as close to perfection as my ability provides before making their way to you.

My bow ties have been a process. A process that I feel has set them apart from anything else available. This process began while I was finishing my industrial design degree (ca. 2010). At the time, they consisted simply of sketches of twists. I could not get enough of trying to understand the 3-dimensional aspect of sketching a twist. That obsession never left, as I would periodically find myself being distracted by this unique form. Approximately 7 years later, in the form of a study model carved by hand out of a soft pine wood, I had my first physical twist and knew I might be on to something ... unique.
The next step was to integrate it into an object that I enjoy wearing myself: bow ties! I had wanted to start something with wooden bowties for a while, but the market was so saturated with laser-cut wooden ties that I didn’t know how to make mine stand out from the rest. Once the twist was there and the thought of bowties remained, the first actual bowtie was carved from a solid chunk of wood. From countless sketches, ideation, carving, and sanding; a couple of upgrades on tools; and a few years later, the bowtie with a twist had come to fruition. That doesn’t mean it stops there, though.
It is what I am at my core, with a sprinkle of artist. It is such a fulfilling mission that can take an idea from a sketch on a scrap piece of paper to a functional prototype to the end user in a matter of, in some cases, months ... in other cases, years.
Seeing the final product in its final habitat brings pride and happiness, knowing you have a hand in getting it there.
